Jægerspris Nordskov
Salt meadow alongside the forest.
Nordskov (”North Forest”) stretches from Jægerspris northwards to the holiday house area south of Kulhuse. Between the forest and the coast there are almost continuous broad salt meadows with extensive network of pools. In several places the salt meadows are becoming overgrown with reeds etc. because they are not being grazed. In most places shallows reach well out into the fjord and at low water large areas of these shallows are exposed as mud flats, which offer good foraging for waders.
Mudflats between the forest and Frederiksværk Bredning.
A very deep channel separates Dyrnæs Hage from Ølsted Hage on the eastern side of the fjord. Øksneholm lies off the southern part of the forest.
In 2014 the fjord's second pair of white-tailed eagles settled in the forest, where they raised one eaglet.
