Goosander

Goosanders.

There was once a small breeding population of Goosander on Bognæs, where the birds nested in hollow trees, but no breeding has been recorded since 1975. Despite the provision of nesting boxes the Goosander has not returned to breed. In winter a number of birds come from the Scandinavian breeding grounds and stay mostly in the northern part of the fjord.
